Google News now highlights +1′d articles from people in your Google+ circles in its Spotlight section. Friends’ faces and Google+ profiles are displayed next to the link, just like in Google’s social search results. Earlier this month, Google News added the same feature for authors, showing Google+ info under their headlines.

The music streaming site Grooveshark is no stranger to the ire of the music industry. The service’s approach to hosting and streaming songs has resulted in a barrage of criticism from industry players, as well as a handful of lawsuits.

The latest lawsuit is actually the second one to be filed by Universal Music Group, the biggest of the major record companies. This time, UMG is suing over a claim that Grooveshark employees were required to bulk-upload music files to the service, and even got a monetary bonus for beating their upload quota. Twitter is cutting deals with third-party providers of services that re-syndicate Tweets online, the company announced today, and the first one is Austin, Texas-based Mass Relevance. Mass Relevance has access to the full Twitter fire hose and offers its customers a filtering, curation and display technology to add Tweets about a TV show, political campaign or other event to their web pages.

The potential for syndicated Tweets is big, but hopefully Twitter won’t go after everyone else in the world who puts Tweets on other websites as a part of their business. The company doesn’t seem to be welcoming interested parties to license those rights either. When Zynga announced Project Z at its “Unleashed” event earlier today in San Francisco, it became clear that the social gaming giant was ready to take some space away from its tightly knit relationship with Facebook.

Project Z is a social network designed for games that also serves as a place where people can talk about the games they’re playing. Pinoy-Canadian web developer AJ Batac put together a drop dead simple javascript bookmarklet today that makes it easy to share any webpage you’re visiting in Google Plus, along with a comment. The way it works is that your account publicly +1′s the page, then gives you the option to share it with whatever Circles you choose.
